What a Labor Day Weekend

What a weekend!

The Texas Rangers finally ended the series against the Angels and moved onto Seattle where they won 3-0 last night. They had us all worried against Anaheim. There was also  a 5K and 1M fun run on the weekend hosted by our Texas Rangers, and it was a success.

Our Dallas Mavericks had more of a calmer weekend in sports. Deron Williams, JaVale McGee and a few others are ready for a fresh start in Dallas. There is a huge desire to bring the championship back here, and the team has a good enthusiastic set of players ready to start the transition from Dirk to Parsons. Oh, also with basketball season close by, we have seen a lot of fitted, and snap backs hitting the market. I cannot personally wait to see what the new NBA jerseys look like or t-shirts. It should be an exciting basketball year for our Mavs.

Finally, our Dallas Cowboys made some cuts and still are working the bottom of their 53 man roster. Some bad news for the team was cutting Showers but reports state that he will probably be back for the practice squad, along with Dustin Vaughan. Our team also traded a draft pick for Seattle’s back up running back Christine Michael. The aura around this trade is that he is a bruiser and none of our backs showed his type of tenacity while running the ball. With 4 rb’s on our depth chart, it will surely be a crowded back field. The injury history of McFadden though doesn’t make it alarming that we have this many backs though. Dallas did get their claim of Jordan Mills approved and released Jasper Brinkley in the process. This has been an unpopular move seen in fan circles. I’m hoping we release Weems because of his awful play, and bring Brinkley back. The defense really needs more shoring up than our offensive line at this moment.
