Week 4 Preview: Dallas Cowboys vs Los Angeles Rams

Overall Series: 32 Games

Dallas Cowboys: 17-15

Last Matchup: Dallas Won 34-31

The Rams jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the last matchup between these teams back in 2014. Their offense and defense was clicking in most of the first half. Dallas came back with a valiant effort to cut the lead to 1 late in to the third quarter, and then eventually jumped out to a 34-24 lead and won the game.

Keys for Los Angeles:

  • Ball control
  • Stop the run
  • Utilize their weapons

The Rams have a very interesting program this season with Goff and Gurley leading the way. This young team will have a lot to handle with the former NFC East champions this Sunday. It will be important for the Rams to establish and sustain long drives to help the defense stay off the field. Last Thursday they had a heck of an offensive performance but had several gaps in the defense. Utilizing there weapons in Tavon Austin and Sammy Watkins will open up the field for Gurley to pound the rock.

Keys for Dallas:

  • Run the football
  • Blitz
  • Keep Rams WR’s contained

Dallas showed great poise in their victory last week against the Cardinals. The game started out a little sluggish but they kept at it and displayed what great teams are made of. This week they will have to establish the run which is usually a key. Along with this, it will be important for them to put pressure on the young Jared Goff. If Lawrence can bring the pressure like he did last week, Dallas will have this one easily in the bag. One thing that will be difficult and can swing this game is keeping the Rams wide receivers in front of the corners. If Sammy gets behind the defense we are toast. Also, if Tavon Austin works the middle of the field without any problems then expect a long day for the Dallas defense.

My Prediction: Dallas Wins 23-13

Team Record: 2-1

My Record: 2-1
