Week 1 Preview: Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants

Overall Series: 110 Games

Dallas Cowboys 62-46-2

Last Matchup: Giants Won 10-7

Dallas took an early lead against the Giants in this late season matchup last year. But the Giants came back and won a close contest. This season we get another great matchup. This time we will see if Eli shows his age or if Dak shows that there is a such thing as a sophomore slump.

Keys for New York:

  • Quick paced attack
  • Pressure the Cowboys offense
  • Get Odell the ball

There is no secret that OBJ’s ankle is bothering him, but all signs point to him starting week 1 against the division rival Cowboys. If he shows no issues then the Giants need to feed him and feed him early. Along with doing this, New York has to attack a young Cowboys secondary. Putting pressure on the Cowboys corners and scoring early will have Dallas on there heels early.

Keys for Dallas:

  • Ball control
  • Pressure Eli
  • Conservative game plan

The Cowboys do not need to get fancy against the Giants. The front four of New York will cause problems to a semi-new Cowboys offensive line. Dallas needs to be precise in there attack and feed Elliott while moving the chains. On the defensive side, there is no question, Dallas has to pressure Eli. A rattled Eli is a horrible Eli and that’s what Dallas should want.

My prediction: Giants Win 23-17

Team Record: 0-0
