Preseason Game 1 Recap

The Dallas Cowboys completed their game against the LA Rams last night with some interesting notes. Of course game one didn’t feature Romo, Smith, Elliott, and some others. But, the game did give us some good fireworks to start the NFL season (after the botched Hall of Fame game).

  • Dak Prescott looked solid. He showed poise in the pocket and stood tall. Dak had very good awareness in the pocket and was able to place the ball where the receivers could get it.
  • Dez was able to get a touchdown and 2 catches on the night. His separation is a little disturbing. Bryant will have to use his size more often than not.
  • Lucky Whitehead was dynamic and the opening kickoff proved it. I believe he will be very crucial along with Dan Bailey on special teams.
  • Terrance Williams had a nice TD and looked crisp on his routes.
  • The Cowboys defense is more than a concern. Missed tackles were consistent throughout.
  • Jared Goff had a horrible start and the learning curve could be bigger than thought.
  • LA will have to rely on their running game to ease Goff into it. This could’ve affected Goff last night.

Next up Dallas gets back home and faces the Miami Dolphins Friday night, August 19th.
