Week 1 on Sunday night against the New York Giants, Jason Witten not only had a great game but he set a team record in receiving yards. Witten surpassed Michael Irvin for the record and now has 11,947 yards receiving. Irvin held the record with 11,904. When looking at what Witten has accomplished it is absurd. Being a tight end in the NFL, it was and is not usual for this position to be so catch happy. Always seen as a security blanket, the tight end position has truly changed over the past 15 years. Witten not only has proven his worth as a security blanket, but also as a blocker, and a pass catcher. He is 26th all-time in receiving yards and will easily move up into the top 25 by the end of the year. Jason is 6th all-time in receptions and will move up into the top 5 this year in that category. One of my favorites to ever wear a Cowboys uniform, I hope Jason Witten wins a Super Bowl ring before he retires from the NFL.
