Cooper Rush Continue’s to Shine

The Cowboys played in there fourth preseason game which was this past Saturday. Overall the performance of the team was average at best. The traditional problems plagued the team from the onset. Defensive errors and miscues along with penalties on the offensive side of the ball. Dak did look sharp in the pocket and Elliott had a chance to finally play some snaps. Dez seemed to be noticeably disinterested, and Jason Witten looked like Jason Witten. With all of this said, my eyes were on seeing how Cooper Rush was going to perform. He was upgraded to play the second half after Dak was done for the night. Coach Garrett stated that they wanted to see some more from Rush and it was a smart decision. Cooper was 12/13 passing and did have 2 touchdowns. His one miscue was a play that was ruled a fumble which was returned by the Raiders for a touchdown. What was amazing about this kid was that after that play he persevered and came through when his confidence could’ve easily been shaken. For this year and maybe beyond, I cannot see how Dallas doesn’t give Rush the backup behind Prescott. Kellen Moore has played himself out of the job and continues to disappoint. Yes, he know’s the offense but Rush has not only shown he can play, but he can make plays.
