What a bye week it was for the Dallas Cowboys. They not only locked in a top WR (in there eye’s), but they also made some changes to the staff. Albeit none of the changes involved Linehan or Garrett, there is reason for optimism heading into this week’s matchup against the Titans.

Home: Dallas Cowboys
Away: Tennessee Titans
Game Time: 7:15 CST
Overall Series: Dallas Cowboys lead the series 8-6 against the Tennessee Titans
Interesting Fact: The Titans used to be the Houston Oilers from 1960 to 1996
Last Meeting: September 14th, 2014. Dallas took an early 16-0 lead and held on to win the game 26-10.
Matchup: Marcus Mariota versus the Cowboys defense
What To Look For: Well after some medium level significant changes, the Cowboys are going to be coming in with a new wide receiver and new offensive line coaching team. It will be interesting to see how the bye week helped the offensive side of the ball for Dallas.
Keys to Win:
- Establish Run: This is going to be a reoccurring theme every week. Dallas will need to get Elliott established often and early. I could recycle the whole paragraph from two weeks ago but I decided not to. The offensive line scheme and coaching after one week will be under the microscope here. If the Cowboys cannot establish the run then it will be a big time problem.
- Pressure Mariota: For some reason the young quarterback from Oregon looks to have regressed. Dallas can take advantage of this and attack the youngster with disguised blitzes. They will have to be careful not to let Mariota run, the kid can create with his legs. Mariota has been sacked 13 times in 2 games so there could be something there for the Cowboys.
- Cooper / Prescott Connection: My gut is telling me that Dallas is going to force feed the ball to Amari Cooper in this game. Hopefully the connection is solid because if not, then the Cowboys will put themselves in trouble. Both men did communicate and work out together during the bye week. Let’s hope this results in some success this Monday night.
Prediction: The up and down season continues for the Cowboys. Hopefully they can swing things upwards and create some good momentum. This is a home game so I expect a big time win here. Dallas should feast on the Titans 33-17.
