Which Cowboys team are we going to see this week in the Dallas? Yep I can basically reuse this question because it has been valid all season long. Here we go with the Cowboys on the road against a big time division rival the Washington Redskins. Both teams are in the hunt for the NFC East title. As we get to the mid-point of the regular season, this is a very important game for both of them.

Home: Washington Redskins
Away: Dallas Cowboys
Game Time: 3:25 CST
Overall Series: Dallas Cowboys are 70-42-2 against the Washington Redskins
Interesting Fact: The Cowboys are 0-2 against the Redskins in the Playoffs
Last Meeting: November 30th, 2017. Dallas dominated the Redskins in what was pure dominance by the Cowboys running game and defense.
Matchup: Adrian Peterson versus the Cowboys defense will be fun to watch Although Peterson is older, it is special for him to play against one of his favorite teams.
What To Look For: Can Dallas bring the same dominance they display at home on the road? This will be huge for the Cowboys as they try to string together the first win streak of the season. Communication issues have been a major factor according to many on the team. Let’s see if it looks cleaned up this week.
Keys to Win:
- Establish Run: This is going to be a reoccurring theme every week. Dallas will need to get Elliott established often and early. With the run game keeping the defense at bay, it will open up some passing lanes for Prescott. But in establishing the run, the Cowboys will need to use the run pass option more in this one too. Heck I didn’t even change this from the prior weeks before.
- Disguise Prescott’s Runs: The Redskins did a wonderful job stifling the Panthers last week. Dallas will have to make sure that it isn’t obvious what they do with Dak in the running game this week. Now that there is film, it won’t come as a surprise if or when Prescott is planning on taking off.
- Limit Turnovers: Last week the Redskins were able to force turnovers and make the Panthers one dimensional. The Cowboys will have to make sure they do not allow themselves to be in the same predicament. Also, by limiting turnovers they will be able to run more effectively.
Prediction: I was very wrong last week and boy was it awesome! Usually people don’t like being wrong but hey, a Cowboys win always trumps. This week I think Dallas puts together a win with a 24-20 victory.
