Which Cowboys team are we going to see this week in the Dallas? Yep I can basically reuse this question because it has been valid all season long. Dallas has done a great job displaying a Jekyll and Hyde impersonation that Leonardo DiCaprio would be impressed. Next on the Cowboys list is a daunted Jacksonville defense and an offense that could potentially be sputtering.

Home: Dallas Cowboys
Away: Jacksonville Jaguars
Game Time: 3:25 CST
Overall Series: Dallas Cowboys are 3-3 against the Jacksonville Jaguars
Interesting Fact: The Cowboys have never faced off against the Jaguars in the playoffs
Last Meeting: November 9th, 2014. Dallas won this game easily. After going up 24-7 in the first half, the Cowboys coasted to a 31-17 victory behind 3 Romo touchdowns.
Matchup: Jalen Ramsey and the Jaguar defense versus Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys offense.
What To Look For: Can the Cowboys defense force turnovers for two weeks in a row? Blake Bortles is an erratic quarterback. If he gives the Cowboys a chance to make plays then this could be a competitive game. Also, a few players from the 2016 and 2017 NFL Draft classes will be on display here. There are always what ifs and questions about who should’ve been drafted. This is a game that can allow those conversations to continue and be cooler talk.
Keys to Win:
- Establish Run: This is going to be a reoccurring theme every week. Dallas will need to get Elliott established often and early. With the run game keeping the defense at bay, it will open up some passing lanes for Prescott. But in establishing the run, the Cowboys will need to use the run pass option more in this one too. Heck I didn’t even change this from the week before.
- Protect Prescott: Dak will have to be upright to win this game. He has admitted to missing some reads from last week. Although it is nice to see he is doing his homework, it is going to be important to see if he can translate the studying to the field. I will have more on Dak’s progression as a quarterback in another article.
- Get Creative: Creativity is going to be huge. Not only on offense but on defense as well. Dallas is going to have to disguise coverages and also use some misdirection. If they can create some trickery, I expect this to be a competitive game.
Prediction: Well Houston won last week in overtime and made me right about my prediction. I think Dallas hits a state of emergency after this week and lose to the Jaguars 23-6. This will probably be the most abysmal performance we will see offensively all year. Jobs could be on the line after this one.
