Which Cowboys team are we going to see this week in the Texas showdown? Who is going to hold claim to the Texas Governor’s Cup? Also, are we going to see the same attack as the week before? A lot of questions are to be answered but today I’m going to share with you some keys for Dallas, and what to look for.

Home: Houston Texans
Away: Dallas Cowboys
Game Time: 7:20 CST
Overall Series: Dallas Cowboys have a 3-1 record against the Houston Texans
Interesting Fact: The Cowboys play the Texans often in the preseason but not during the regular season.
Last Meeting: October 5th, 2014. Dallas won this regular season matchup in overtime beating the Texans 20-17. Romo threw for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns while the Texans were hoping to ride some Fitzmagic. DeMarco Murray had a field day as did Arian Foster. Both backs ran for over 130 yards in this closely contested matchup that went into overtime.
Matchup: Watson versus Prescott, Cowboys D versus Texans D, you name it, we have narratives.
What To Look For: Can Dallas recreate the magic that helped them beat Detroit a week ago? Houston is coming off its very own stellar victory and could have some momentum that has jump started their own offense. Prescott and Elliott have no room for error and will be facing Watt and company. Watson is going to be facing Lawrence and a hungry Dallas defense.
Keys to Win:
- Establish Run: This is going to be a reoccurring theme every week. Dallas will need to get Elliott established often and early. With the run game keeping the defense at bay, it will open up some passing lanes for Prescott. But in establishing the run, the Cowboys will need to use the run pass option more in this one too.
- Stop The Run: Lamar Miller has been struggling all year. If the Cowboys can make the Texans one dimensional we have a chance for victory. By putting another game on the arm of Watson, Dallas will give themselves an opportunity to simplify and attack the Texans offense all night.
- 2 Minute Offense: They ran it last week and boy was it successful, they will have to do the same this week to keep the Texans defense from making key substitutions. If they can do this, and be effective moving the ball, we have ourselves a victory.
Prediction: So I guess the Cowboys love messing with me because last week I predicted a loss and we ended up with a win. This week I’m going to predict a loss again because I believe the Cowboys will struggle with Watson. Houston is going to win this one on Sunday night 27-20.
