Who is this team!? A lot of questions remain as the Cowboys continue to search for an identity (and an offense). The same can be said for the Detroit Lions who have been up and down this season as well. Let’s take a look at what Dallas needs to do to get back to .500 against a unique Lions team.

Home: Dallas Cowboys
Away: Detroit Lions
Game Time: 12:00 CST
Overall Series: Dallas Cowboys have a 15-12 record against the Detroit Lions
Interesting Fact: In 12 losses, Dallas has never been shut out by the Lions.
Last Meeting: December 26th, 2016. In a game that didn’t have too much meaning for the Cowboys, they stomped Detroit 42-12 at AT&T Stadium. Dak Prescott threw for three touchdowns and the shootout quieted down in the second half.
Matchup: The matchup will be the Cowboys defense versus the Lions offense. Detroit has a lot of firepower offensively. This will be a good challenge for a young up and coming Dallas defense.
What To Look For: Which Lions and Cowboys will we see? Detroit pummeled the Patriots last week and Dallas was held in check by the Seahawks. Both teams the week before looked the complete opposite. So far we do not know what we will get form both teams so it will be interesting to look for any trends that appear.
Keys to Win:
- Establish Run: Once again this is back in the forefront. Dallas didn’t establish the run against the Seahawks, nor did they use Prescott as a runner. A lot of the yardage last week was when the team did hurry up offensively and were behind by a lot.
- Pressure Stafford: The homecoming is never lost on Matthew Stafford when he comes to Dallas. The “Hot Boyz” as they like to call themselves will need to pressure Stafford. If they can rattle the Lions quarterback, then they will create opportunities for turnovers.
- 2 Minute Offense: So I feel like I’m onto something here with this. When Dallas ran a hurry up they were a lot more effective last week against Seattle. More urgency on offense could lead to better possessions. Let’s see what Dallas implements this week.
Prediction: Well last week I was wrong with my prediction expecting a different Dallas team. This week though I predict another loss for our team. A loss here will officially put the team in panic mode. Get ready for a circus coming up in the next few weeks. My prediction score wise, Dallas 17 Detroit 34.
